2023 Mid Year Review

Summer is my second favorite time of the year, but not because of hotter weather and slower days. I love the mid year review process. I really enjoy taking stock of what I've accomplished so far for the year, and reviewing and renewing goals, plans, and routines to make the second half of the year just as strong, if not more successful.

So, congratulations on making it halfway through the year! A mid-year review is an excellent way to check in on your progress and adjust your goals if necessary.

Here are some things you might want to include in your review:

  1. Revisit your goals: Take some time to go back to the goals you set at the beginning of the year. Make sure you remember what you were trying to achieve, and if necessary, adjust them if they are no longer relevant or seem unattainable.

  2. Assess your progress: Review your progress towards each of your goals. Have you made significant progress, or are you lagging behind? It's essential to be honest with yourself about your progress.

  3. Identify what's working and what's not: Consider the actions and strategies that have helped you make progress and the ones that haven't. If something isn't working, figure out why and what changes you can make to achieve better results.

  4. Identify any obstacles or challenges: Think about any obstacles or challenges that you have faced in reaching your goals. Have you been able to overcome them, or are they still blocking your progress? Identify what you need to do to overcome these obstacles.

  5. Celebrate your successes: Celebrate the progress you've made towards achieving your goals, regardless of how small or significant it may be. It's important to acknowledge and celebrate your successes to keep you motivated and focused on achieving your goals.

  6. Set new goals or adjust existing ones: Based on your review, set new goals or adjust existing ones that are more realistic or relevant. Make sure you have specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals.

  7. Create an action plan: Create an action plan that outlines the steps you need to take to achieve your goals for the remaining half of the year. Set specific deadlines and identify the resources you need to achieve your goals.

Remember, a mid-year review is an opportunity to reflect, learn, and adjust your goals, so be open-minded and flexible.

Whatever goals you set in January are up for evaluation now.
