5 Dinners For 6 Under $20

There was a time that our family was in transition and we really had to budget for food meals. It’s easier when the kids are in school and I can pay for their school lunches and only had to worry about dinners. Our favorites are still in our Meal Plan rotation now (I can’t believe my kids aren’t sick of these yet).

In June 2023 I compiled these dinners and searched the ingredients at Walmart.com. If you’re needing to feed your crew for less than $20, here’s the best meals you can make with your money. Feel free to add a salad or vegetables or any extras to these! Make them your own, so your family will eat them without complaining, because that’s the ultimate goal here, right?

Grilled Cheese sandwiches with tomato soup $5.62 + tax where applicable

Breakfast for dinner (eggs, bacon, pancakes and syrup) $8.06 + tax where applicable

Spaghetti with meat sauce $8.42 + tax where applicable

Beef Tacos (ground beef, tortillas, cheese, sour cream, pico de Gallo) $19.66 + tax where applicable

Chicken and rice casserole (chicken, rice, broccoli, cream of chicken soup, cheddar cheese) $14.33 + tax where applicable

Of course these are just 5 ideas for dinners from thousands!!

The best way to save money on your dinners is to have a solid meal plan in place. You can use these ideas to get you started, but if you need any additional ideas, I’ve come up with a way to meal plan an entire year’s worth of dinners in under an hour!
